Governing Body Will Get to Kill Worldly People at Armageddon! Gods Kingdom Rules Quote
by lostnotfound inso scanning through the gods kingdom rules i found this gem on page 228.. .
"in heaven, the 144,000 corulers with christ will recieve authority to share with jesus in weilding an "iron rod" of destruction against all enemies of gods kingdom.
( rev 2 26,27) then, together with powerful angels, the resurrected anointed ones will follow christ, the warrior king, as he sets out to confront the "vast army" of enemies that is closing in on its prey - jehovahs people.".

Is this a new "This Generation" or not?
by Doug Mason infirst of all i want to express my sincere gratitude to atlantis and his good friends for making this 2014 book available.. ------------.
as i see it, and i am absolutely open to contradiction, the wts appears to be giving another new meaning to this generation.
this time the term means all of his anointed followers, including his immediate disciples.

18 How, then, may we understand Jesus' words about
"this generation"? The generation consists of two over-
lapping groups of anointed ones-the first is made up of
anointed ones who saw the beginning of the fulfillment of
the sign in 1914 and the second, anointed ones who for a
P12
time were contemporaries of the first group. At least some
of those in the second group will live to see the beginning
of the coming tribulation. The two groups form one gener-
ation because their lives as anointed Christians overlapped
for a time.I don't think there is any Noo Lite.
All I see is that they have dropped the word 'evidently' and slipped in "... for a time ..." when describing the two groups as 'contemporaries', which the two groups are not.
Once more the WT has to coin a new meaning for a word, and this time, it's not even a word that Jesus used in their problem scripture, it's their own that they superimposed on it. -

Even though the Ragazine doesn't name the source, I'm sure the book is available in many Australian libraries.

Goodbye JW net
by snare&racket inforgive me for indulging in a goodbye but it would feel wrong not to,.
i hope the discussions and atmosphere here do not change for it is a bubbling brew of doubt, bravery and sincere hunger for answers.
these are healthy ingrediants for humans and especially for a jehovah's witness.. this forum offers not just the ability to ask without consequence, but it also offers the means to be real.

Where to go from here...
by Patrickday ini'm new around here, but i've been browsing the site the last few days in hopes of finding the answer to the situation i've been going through, so hopefully you can help me.
i met this girl in highschool, but never really spoke with her until about a year after i graduated.
she's three years younger (however it's legal where i'm from, don't fret) and still a teenager.

Until such time as she fully understands that she was raised in an apocalyptic doomsday cult with a history of prophetic failure and nothing to offer her, and you, and her children, of any value, she is damaged goods and is not the kind of person you would choose to have raising your children if you were fully informed about her church's doctrines, rules, nature, grip and history.

I was 36 when I started posting here. This weekend I celebrated my 50th birthday!
by nicolaou inand i mean celebrated!
it was a cracking barbecue party for around 40 good friends and neighbours as well as my 'never jw' cousins and one of my brothers and his family.. .
drank a bit too much, embarrassed my kids with some 'dad dancing' and laughed until 2 in the morning.

1914 real generation vs Watchtower "this generation".
by tenene ini know it has been discussed a number of times on this forum, but this issue is so complicated and almost impossible to understand.
what is a generation in real terms?
watchtower spin doctors managed to buy this organization another 100 years of existence/business just by playing around with this word..

Make your JW bash every form of dishonesty that they are likely to need to use to weasel their way out of confronting your question, then ask it and use their own high standards to keep them honest.

Ask as many questions as you want, but don't offer your own opinions. Make them do the talking and shut up except to keep them honest and to give them guilt trips if they try bullying, lying, changing the subject, or any other trickery to avoid answering your questions.
Remember at all times, that you must portray yourself as asking because you want to understand the Truth, not because you are Satan's minion trying to steal their salvation away from them.
